It took me a while to figure out my ideal morning routine. I’ve always believed in routines and I actually have a few of them. The one that has been the most consistent throughout my life is my night time routine but I knew I needed a good, consistent morning routine in order to achieve my goals and start my day the best possible way! So,I read a lot about it and tried a few things and after a while I finally had my morning routine figured out! I have been consistently waking up to this routine for the past six months and believe me when I say that this is the reason why I became a morning person! I absolutely love my mornings now and I know it’s the best start to my day!
So, what do I do when I wake up? Well, here are my few tips on how to have a perfect morning routine in order to bring happiness into your lives!
- Wake up early
I know, it’s not easy, but I promise it’s worth it! I have always been one to love to wake up early, but I confess that for a period of time in my early twenties I had trouble waking up early. I realized that in order to do so I actually had to set up a good night time routine… but I’ll talk about that some other day! I set my alarm at the same time every day of the week and I don’t press snooze. Just wake up there is a beautiful day ahead of you!
I started meditating in the morning a few months ago and it has helped me so much. As soon as I wake up I meditate. Some days I meditate while still laying in bed and some days I meditate in my living room. I use a few meditation apps on my phone to help me meditate and it allows me to relax and set my intentions for the day. Meditation is a powerful tool to help you focus, set goals and visualize your goals. It will help you stay calm and it is an amazing way to start the day. If you are new at it there are many apps or even YouTube videos that provide guided meditations. No need to sit down for an hour meditation, research has shown that even a 5 minute meditation in the morning has many benefits!
- Practice gratitude
There are so many benefits from practicing gratitude. Get a journal and write what you are grateful for that day! I personally like to write three positive affirmations, my intentions for the day and what I am grateful for! It allows me to, once again, set my intentions for the day and stay focused on what matters the most. Believe me, it’s powerful and a great way to practice self-love!
I know, it’s hard to stay motivated all the time and I have days where I just don’t feel like working out too. But, there is nothing better than the feeling you get after a good morning workout. It’s not only good for your health, but it’s also a great way to start the day. Did you know that moving first thing in the morning will help your metabolism burn more fat during the day? It’s amazing! After that you will be ready to hustle all day long!
- Nourish your body
We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And it really is! Nourish your body with a balanced healthy breakfast and stay away from processed foods. My favorite breakfasts are smoothie bowls. They are colorful, healthy and full of amazing nutrients in order to help you kick the day! My tip for you is to meal prep the night before so that you can prepare your breakfast quickly in the morning. I personally like to go to bed with an idea of what I’ll have for breakfast and I enjoy preparing it in advance. Easy and delicious!
- No phone am
Another amazing thing I’ve been doing for about six months is to turn off my social media in the morning! I used to wake up and scroll thru my social media for a long time. Probably way too much time! Instead…well I do all the things I mentioned above! I feel so much better since I cut off my social media time! I am not scrolling through my phone all day long and it gives me time to do so many other amazing things. Life is better when you live it in real time!
